Description: Our Grand Cru is not so much a style, as it is a designation for a very special Barrel of Monks beer. Every year we create a completely new recipe to explore the depth of flavor of Belgian ales understanding that this particular beer may never be made again. This year's Grand Cru is a Belgian-style dark strong ale. It is made with a ridiculous amount of European malt to give it the rich and malty flavor that is typical of this style. Aromatic notes of raisin, caramel and dark fruit are balanced by just enough noble hops. Five types of malt create a complex and delicious treat.
