A quadruple malt bill of barley, white wheat, corn, and rye is paired with fresh dumped local wheat, rye, and corn bourbon barrels and set to rest for 12 months. Once deemed ready, this exquisite ale provides layer upon layer of complex molasses, rich toffees, and a strong leathery, caramel backbone. Cinnamon, vanilla and a moderate tannin finish showcase the uniqueness of each type of barrel used. Old Breed is a tantalizing complexity, from the aroma to the aftertaste and one we hope to savor for a long time.
