Our take on this style features Maris Otter malt & piloncillo sugar aka brown cane sugar. FFJ has a deep roasted malt & chocolate flavor without the heaviness that people generally equate with stouts. It also has an ever so slight essence of rum. The name is inspired by Tom Browne’s Funkin’ For Jamaica (N.Y) which is actually about the Jamaica Queens neighborhood in NYC
